A neighborhood-sized
nonprofit with a big heart.
Based in Berkeley and serving the Greater Bay Area, Smiles for Women and Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making dental care, hygiene, and wellness accessible to the families who need it most.
Reducing health disparities, one smile at a time.
The purpose of Smiles for Women and Children is to reduce health disparities and improve quality of life for women and children who face barriers to care due to income, language, immigration status, or limited access to resources.
We believe no family should have to choose between essential hygiene supplies and their next meal — and no mother should have to navigate complex care systems alone. Through compassionate outreach and partnerships with professionals, we empower women and children to live healthier, more confident, and more stable lives.

Free dental kits. Confident smiles.
For children and families, we focus on improving oral health by distributing free dental and oral hygiene supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash, alongside age-appropriate educational materials that promote lifelong healthy habits.
As we grow, we aim to partner with licensed dental professionals to offer periodic exams, screenings, and basic procedures to communities with limited access to dental care.

Essentials, support, and a path forward.
We provide essential items and support that help women meet their everyday health and hygiene needs. This includes menstrual products, personal hygiene materials, dental hygiene supplies, and food assistance for women facing financial hardship.
We also help connect women with resources that make dental care more accessible, including guidance on finding affordable services and navigating programs such as Medi-Cal or other community-based assistance options.

Rooted in Berkeley. Open to the Bay.
We are especially committed to serving families who face language barriers, including immigrant and non-English-speaking populations, by offering culturally sensitive materials and support.
If you live anywhere in the Greater Bay Area and could use our help — or if you know a family that could — please reach out. Our services are free and open to everyone who needs them.
